Becoming a Mikvah Guide

Mikvah Guides 2023

We are able to provide meaningful immersions because of our volunteer guides.

Thank you for your commitment to MACoM and the community!

To be notified when the next training will be, please contact Sarah Konigsburg at immerse@atlantamikvah.orr or fill out the form below.

MACoM mikvah guides work with each guest to facilitate a positive and meaningful mikvah experience by explaining the immersion process, offering information and resources, and/or witnessing the actual immersion. Guides play a pivotal role in establishing our mikvah as a safe, supportive, and holy space for our community.

We’re looking for individuals who will:

  • Be caring, open-minded, and respectful.

  • Value diversity and be comfortable working with people of varied identities, backgrounds, and motivations for coming to the mikvah.

  • Commit to guiding 2-3 immersions a month. (Both daytime, evening, and weekend opportunities will be available.) Most immersions are around 1 hour in length, plus time for set-up and clean-up.

  • Help with light housekeeping tasks (“holy laundry”) while at the mikvah.

  • Attend all scheduled training sessions.

  • Serve as ambassadors for MACoM in the community.

Our next guide training will be a series of four classes taking place in-person at MACoM in early 2027.

* you must be able to pass a criminal background check to train as a guide
